Spring is in the air ... somewhere.
I can feel it hiding behind those single-digit Fahrenheit temperatures (Celsius temps look even colder!) as the arctic blasts again thrust the mercury into a wind-chill Hall of Fame.
In other words, it is STILL REALLY COLD HERE!
In hopes of a speedy spring debut, today seemed like the right time to spruce-up my blog. Inspired by Maryam in Marrakesh and Quantum Storytelling who have both recently given their excellent blogs fresh coats of virtual paint, I've touched up the trim here a bit:
- changed active, hover and visited link colors
- took away the underline and bold aspects of my links
- let the crest of the "big wave" (representing the writing flow) in my masthead finally show
The biggest change is my new tag-line. I've replaced my former "Join me on my wordy quest through life." with "Words, sweat and inspiration". Why? I love my old tag-line, and I may go back to it because it still applies, but I feel that as my blog has progressed, I — and thus, my blog — have gotten more entrenched in the writing process. Nothing sums up the writing process better to me than "words, sweat and inspiration".
Let me know what you think, especially if you have any trouble seeing or reading anything now.
And please join me in a somewhat desperate cheer: "C'mon, Spring!"
Note: I found an interesting link to the origin of "spruce-up" if any of you wordy folks are interested.
Looking good. What I like about your blog page are the size of your columns. I personally would like to see more color in your banner and for it to be a little more visually stimulating - but that is just me: addicted to color:-)

Thanks, Maryam. I have been playing with the idea of more color and haven't decided how to best fit it. I'm torn between being just a wordy blog or going for some all-out strong visuals. Maybe I can have both.
I LOVE your blog's color schemes — I feel rejuvenated every time I visit.
