"Sycamore Eve" by Evan Viera inspires on many levels. Visually stunning and unique. Haunting, melodic score. Mysterious characters, working towards something — creating or destroying?
What did you get from this? I'm still thinking about it.
Found at NOTCOT (they are so good!).
Yeah the music is cool. You dig that kind of stuff? Have you checked out Marconi Union? :)
Cool video. Reminds me of why I'm doing sci-fi -- there's an inherent sense of wonder in future or alternate worlds.
Imagine what it'd be like for someone from the 1500s to explore our modern world. That's what sci-fi and fantasy aspire to do, at least on an inspirational level. It's about bringing someone someplace else entirely.
Oh, and why do I get the feeling you would enjoy The Fountain?

Eric — I'll check out The Fountain and Marconi Union, never heard of them before your comment.
Yes, excellent point about sci fi: "It's about bringing someone someplace else entirely."
BTW, this video is a student project. Has been screened publicly (besides Web) only once. If this guy keeps at it, he could be making some really genius stuff. I hope he keeps at it — that seems to be key to any sort of success.

Couldn't agree more about Marconi Union, Distance is the best electronic album I've heard for years.
